The Fit Criteria
Our 100% human-written content tier is the right choice when at least one of these is true.
The page carries a name. Founder pieces, executive commentary, and anything published under an individual’s byline. A model has no position to defend, and it shows.
The argument is the product. Thought leadership works when it says something specific that a competent reader could disagree with. Coverage of a topic is not an argument.
Original research is involved. Interviews, proprietary data, or primary sources that nobody else has published.
The claims carry consequence. Regulatory, medical, financial, or legal content where a wrong sentence creates liability, not just embarrassment.
You want it picked up. Trade publications and industry newsletters cite pieces with something new in them. That requires reporting.

What Human Writing Adds Over Hybrid
Hybrid gives you accuracy, voice, and structure. The premium tier adds three things hybrid cannot.
Reporting. A journalist calls sources, reads the underlying documents, and finds the detail nobody else published. Editing a draft cannot produce information that was never gathered.
A point of view. Building an argument across 2,000 words is a different skill from covering a topic well. It is the skill that gets a piece quoted.
Experience signals at depth. Search quality rater guidelines reward first-hand experience. A 40-minute interview with the person who actually does the work produces details that are impossible to fake and immediately recognisable to a knowledgeable reader.
The test we use internally
Could this page have been assembled from what already ranks? If yes, it does not need this tier. If no, it probably cannot be produced any other way.
The Cost and Schedule
Benchmark pricing is $180 to $280 per 1,000-word article for standard editorial, and $250 to $400+ on the SEO tier with full keyword mapping. Standard delivery is eight days.
This tier cannot be rushed. Those eight days are research, interviews, drafting, and a second editorial review, and compressing them would mean cutting one. We would rather decline the premium than sell a thinner version at the premium price. The reasoning is set out in full in our guide on why human content cannot be rushed.
How to Decide
Run a short sequence.
- Count the pages. Most businesses have three to six pages a year that genuinely warrant this tier. If your list has thirty, it is not a list for this tier.
- Name the argument. Write one sentence stating what the piece will claim. If you cannot, the piece is coverage, and hybrid will serve it better.
- Identify the source. Who gets interviewed, or what data gets used? If the answer is nobody and none, the reporting advantage disappears.
- Order one. A single piece tells you more about fit than any further comparison.
